Thursday was "new bike day" for me. Went and picked up my new road bike. It's a 2007 Cannondale CAAD8. Super smooth ride. I had ridden a Trek in the same price range, and a Cannondale CAAD9 priced slightly higher. In the end, the Cannondale Lifetime frame warrenty, sleek black paint, and killer price settled me on the CAAD8. Promptly replaced the arrowhead of a stock seat (Selle San Marco Ponza) with the Brooks B17 Imperial I am testing.

I was a tad worried about the low spoke count, and the driveside radial lacing on the rear. But we will see how they hold up. The Shimano wheelset has a pretty good v section to it. It might hold up fine.

Now go put some miles on it!!

You dont have to tell me twice. I've already got a set 10 miler I do at the very least with options to extend above and beyond depending how I feel on the individual ride.

It may just be a placebo effect, but my average speed on the loop bumped to 17mph from 15 on the first ride.

Now that's a real beauty. Best of luck with the new bike.

Bike looks great. I'm sure your going to have many great miles on it!

PS: How many times do we need to see "Cannondale" on one side?

As fast as japollner is going, they need to put it on several times so you will have a chance to read it as he flies by!
Excellent on the new ride and double excellent on the increase in speed!
Maybe a new bike is just what I need...... Honey, are you listening?
