I've been using mine for a couple of months now. No real problems with setup or wireless communications to speak of. However, occasionally the computer will not turn on after it has been sitting unused. The screen goes blank and the only remedy is to push the reset button on the back. At first I thought it was the battery, but it has happened twice now with different batteries.

Anyone have this experience and can identify a different solution. I can't seem to find anything in the manual on this.

Thanks!

I've contacted Cateye through the website & no response. My battery has gone dead again. Second one in 3 months. I'm about ready to send the V3 back. It's still in warranty. I'm disgusted. :(

Bummer to hear this update. I was considering this model but your narrative has given me pause.

Yeah.. Ditch it for an old school ASTRALE 8. I looked over the new Stada line of Cyclocomputers and I wasn't impressed.

Ya, my V3 seems to eat batteries as well. Not a happy camper.

Heck, I would return it. I use a Sigma BC 1706 HR and I've had no problems with it. Plus, it has a backlight for night riding that I find VERY handy. I've had several Sigma products over the years and none of them have given me a bit of trouble. However, I have friends who use Cateye computers and they're happy with them. Perhaps you just got one with a bad chip in it. Good Luck!:thumb:

I have finally sent the V3 back to Cateye. I've got a race this weekend and need something reliable. I tried a Strada w/ cadence for a temporary fix.
