Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just getting back into riding after a significant amount of years out of the saddle.
I'm currently riding an aluminum framed Puegot MTB that I have made more road friendly, but will soon be moving to a road bike. I look forward to seeing some of you in the future as my ride miles take me further and further out into the world again.

Glad to have another rider on the roads. hook up w/ Plano Bicycle Assoc for a good group and some nice rides.
Lots of great riders with the PBA. I can be found in one of the many groups almost every weekend. I'm usually on the Distance Builder rides on Saturday, and often hit the Tempo ride on Sunday. There are rides for every skill and speed. :)
Lots of N.Dallas guys are into vintage bikes too btw. See my signature for photos of my 3 vintage steel bikes. :thumb:

Thanks for the heads up on the PBA Creaky. Give me another couple of weeks or so and I think I'll try and join the novice ride on Saturday mornings.
Greetings again cuda. I love the work you've done on your rides. I'm looking forward tothis weekend as well!
It seems most of the PBA rides are, logically, in the evenings. I work deep nights and evening s are tough for me to work out logistically. It's probably just as well while I'm getting back into the swing of things. Right now my biggest contribution to a group ride would be as the "Don't let this happen to you" example.
I'm in Murphy.
Is anyone is into some social rides in the area?

I would really like to find someone to ride with. I gotta be up front, I fit the Clyde definition pretty well, and am just getting back into riding after a long long layoff. My rides are relatively short as of yet, but I'm getting there.
I hope to be adopting a road bike here in the next few days, and spending less time on my MTB that I have put road tires on.
Shoot me an e-mail or a PM and we can at least meet up at your/our local Starbucks on the corner and see how it goes!
Well I am at College in Oxford, England at the moment, so our local starbucks are a bit far apart. When I get back in later this month I'll send you message. Organise some cruising around downtown Plano.
I ride fixed gear, and will have a Surly Steamroller, so not exactly into all the carbon and widgets the roadies love.
I want to take the Dart Downtown or something and ride there. Anyone know if any alleycats run in downtown dallas, or if anyone is interested in helping organize one?
I ride with PBA Tweeners. If you can ride 31 miles I would suggest you ride with us. It's a great group and a little longer than the Novice Ride. It would be better though once you get your road bike. However, there is one guy who rides with us on a MTB setup for the road.
Where are you located in CC?

I'm in Wylie.
I'm pretty sure I'm able to do 31 miles (note the lack of elapsed time reference) , but I've only been back into it for a bit over 4 -5 weeks now.
I will be checking it all out very soon. I have some Dad obligations as support team Saturday, but I will be meeting up with the Vintage guys Sunday morning at Celebration Park, if only just to meet some people.
Rumor has it there is a road bike in the area that needs a new home. I'll be heading out on a mission of mercy this evening to rescue it and give it a good home. I think it wil lneed some TLC before she sees much more than the neighborhood, but we'll figure that out while we bond, lol.

If you are looking for a nice social speed hangout ride try the Wednesday night PBA dinner ride. I ride it when I can on one of my "bents"
Are they still doing the Wed Dinner Ride? I haven't seen any updates on that ride in months upon months!

Are they still doing the Wed Dinner Ride? I haven't seen any updates on that ride in months upon months!I think it must be a secret. I may crash it for the dinner part next week if someone will let on where the dinner location is. :-)
Oh... Wait... silly me... the ride page on the website appears to be up to date... just never gets mentioned in the forums.
The dinner location for the 25th sounds better than next week's, though...

Yah funny enough a burger at the Purple Cow doesn't really sound good to me. But then again the location is close, so I will ride and then go across the parking lot to Seabreeze and get a Lobster roll.
