I need help---
i'm looking to start riding bikes and am getting one for christmas.
as i'm shopping around one place told me to get a trek 4500 and another place suggested a raleigh m50.

also my parents were considering a mongoose intake.

i am serious about riding at the moment and i want a good mountain bike.
my parents are hesitant of spending so much money for a trek or raleigh.....would a mongoose be a good bike to start with?

I need some suggestions....anything will help from someone who has a valid opinion. the sales reps only wanna sell what they have and we dont know who to believe

My first question would be how much riding do you intend to do and what type of riding would it be?

i intend to start riding pretty much daily. i live close to valley forge park in p.a. and they have great trails also there are many bikes trails around the phildelphia area that i am going to try...most are road trails with some off roading. what would be good?

Hi, Shat!

I've got a Trek 4500 and like it. It's a good entry level MTB. Just make sure you get the right size, that's important for any bike.

If most of your riding is on improved trails you might consider swapping the tires for a less aggressive tread.

You might even consider a hybrid bike if you don't intend on doing a lot of serious off road cycling.

Good luck in your search.
