Road Cycling - spinergy and their warranty

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I had to return a set of spinergy rev -x wheels after riding them for almost 1 year because of loss of true. It took Spinergy 3 months to decide what they were going to do. they felt even though a wheeel was not true, it was within their specs, and were not going to do anything about it.
unfortunately, I was not aware that they stopped making those wheels 2 years before, but they were glad to sell me a pair without telling me that.
does anyone have that experience?
of interest, when Spinergy shipped the wheels back to the bike shop, the wheels were damaged. I've been waiting a month now, and have not received my replacement pair from Spinergy.
Cyclists should not have to tolerate this low level of customer service.

Unfortunately you've fallen victim to the customer service (or lack there of) Spinergy has become known for over the years. Most of the good bike shops in my area will not carry any of their aftermarket wheelsets as they've also been burned.
Hopefully you get some type of satisfactory resolution on your issue.

While Spinergy has come out with some very interesting and advanced products, none of them have seemed to become fully matured and reliable. Hub failures, spoke failures and catastrophic failures of the Rev-X wheels are common knowledge. Also common knowledge is Spinergy's 'customer no service', extremely long turnaround, lack of communication and denial of warranty for obvious and common defects.
How these wheels are still sold in the marketplace is beyond me.
