Today is the start of Bike Month in Edmonton... a celebration of cycling in all it's myriad forms.
I will be pretty deeply involved in things as besides being a human mule I will be attending all the ride in breakfasts to do free mechanic checks and tune ups, will be using these legs to make delicious smoothies on Thursday afternoon mocktails, speaking at a few salons on things like winter cycling and general mechanical stuff, and once again ironmaning it at the 24 hour repair marathon (I lasted for 26 hours last year).
:D
A full schedule of events can be found here:
Bikeology Information (http://www.bikeology.ca/bikeology-information/)
Movies at the Met are among my favourite things and the first free show goes tomorrow night... I will so be there.
June 2 at Metro Cinema (map):
“A Sunday in Hell” Danish, 1976, 111 minutes
Director: Jorgen Leth
A Sunday In Hell is probably the finest cycling film ever made. It’s over one hundred minutes of finely-calculated suspense that leaves the viewer limp from vicarious pain and excitement. Once a year the Paris-Roubaix road race taxes the energy of Europe’s best riders, Eddy Merckx, De Vlaminick, Franceco Moser, Freddy Maertens etc.
And this is me cranking out the smoothies last year...:D
