Hi,

new member here, have just ordered a Bionx PL-250 which is going on an older Kona Kula ('97).

The drivetrain has seen its best days, and since the bike will mostly be used for commuting in pretty flat terrain, I was thinking that maybe a single speed conversion would be a good idea.

I like the simplicity of SS and since I have various assistance levels from the Bionx it will all be good, yes?? Any thoughts?

With a motor, you don't have as much use for multi-speed gearing as without.

If you are okay with an unmotorized singlespeed, (or an unmotorized 3 or 4 speed, too) you'll be fine with a motorized singlespeed.

BionX would probably be one of the safest choices for a motorized fixie, but I still recommend against it. :) (a motorized fixed-gear bike, that is)
