<soapbox on> I returned Saturday from a week in the Turks and Caicos (islands near Haiti). When the taxi dropped us at the airport I was stunned to see several bike racks in front of the terminal.
My local shopping center, built within the last few years and claiming to be a "multi-use development" with housing all around it for easy walking/cycling, DOESN'T HAVE A SINGLE BIKE RACK. This strip mall even has a bicycle shop.
Yeah, I get that T&C has a much lower income level than the area where I live, thus more people there ride bicycles as their main form of transport (though, having been on the roads there in the taxis I can't imagine cycling there...) so bike racks are more common. Still...can I at least get ONE bike rack?!<soapbox off>
