I saw one of these on a 1930's Columbia bicycle I was selling and I thought, "wouldn't it be cool if they still made those".

There are so many good, affordable LED flashlights avaiable today, but mounting them to a bicycle is the tough part. Here is a solution. This mounts to your handlebars and you just snap the flashlight into it.

Check out: http://waldsports.com/index.cfm/flashlightholder.html

On Amazon for around $2.00 each. You gotta be kidding me. Why did I not find this before. Now, I can have a honkin 64 LED torch for my night riding for $6.00 + the $2.00 mount instead of a bicycle light for $150?

Does anybody have any experience with these?

Do not have any experience with them, but I do with using a flashlight as a bike light. I use a Mag-Light from one of the hardware stores. I think it is either a 3 -celled "C" or a 4-celled "D". It puts out the light for my morning commute to school. Thanks for posting the information about the holder.

If it's anything like the other products that Wald makes it will make a lot of noise and rust in no time.....

No experience with that holder, but I am using this one: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8274 , made for AA or flashlights using similar size batteries, not C or D cells. It also allows the flashlight to be clipped in. It fits my Smartfire V-68C securely. Cheap too!

... with zip ties and some recycled clamps for reflectors, computers, etc.

Zip ties ... bailing wire for those without a ranch.
