Hey folding friends,

I upgraded my Dahon quite extensively in the last month...
To celebrate Dahon's 25th Anniversary this year, I decided to call it:

Dahon Helios XXV - Rosso Corsa Edition

I know some of you don't visit the Dahon forums, so here are some photos... :)
(clicking on photos will take you to a larger version at ImageShack...)

wow wow wow.

IMO you'll need dahon FD adaptor now. (It's too lame to leave one of those RED levers idle...)

Thanks guys! Your compliments mean a lot, I always enjoy reading about your bikes :)

We'll see what Thor manages to bring in, and if one of them will fit the Helios frame.
I'm at a bit of a loss for what I would do with it... I could either add some low-end gearing, or I could perhaps add a chainring very close to the Rotor 54T and go for what I think they call "half-step" gearing. I guess the other benefit would be that instead of riding at the extreme end of my cassette to get to the lower gear, I would be able to switch to the smaller chainring and keep a better chainline.

The trick would be finding a FD that works with the Rotor, esp. the 54T (the effective diameter varies from like 51 to 57 due to the oval shape). Not sure that the SRAM RED FD would even work with that setup.

But unless I start climbing hills like Jur, I'm probably safe with my existing gearing, we'll see...

One of my friends is using rotor 54T outer chainring with conventional 39T inner chainring.
His ultegra FD seems to work fine with that setup. BTW I'm using 60T-42T with DA FD and it shifts all right.

Or just let me know when you are ready to sell your wheels. ;)

Seriously though - good to see you in these parts, I recall reading your posts from like 2 years ago. :)

I actually procured a NOS Precision Billet in silver, but I just can't bring myself to mount the thing. Just too pretty and it'll only ever be new once. When the times up on my Sachs Plasma, I'll probably put a Dura Ace 7800 on long with some XTR dual controls, sadly retiring my much loved Precision Billet brake levers.

Other features of the bike are a full compliment of titanium bolts including custom made titanium pivot axles, a custom seat post binder clamp and a Dura Ace cassette. It's served me well but doesn't get ridden nearly as much anymore as I'm not doing that long commute anymore. Collecting the full sized bikes again.

Thanks for remembering me! :) I have a few sets of these Rolf wheels ad I suppose it's time to thin that part of my collection. If you want them, we can talk turkey over PM's.
