I'm 6'1", 215lbs(was 245!), and looking for a decent bmx to bash around on. I trust Dan's Comp since I used them years back for parts. I am just wondering what you all have to say about this bike as it fits my budget, frame size, and it seems built enough to handle me. Type of riding I'll be doing is the usual neighborhood stuff: small jumps, bunny-hops, and maybe the occasional quadruple back-flip. :roflmao2:

Thanks for the input. I'll be running to the local dealer to see what they have available. I just don't want to get a Haro(bent the down tube before) or similar lack of quality bike. $300 is the price range as I know I'll need to get some upgrades/replacements after riding a few weeks.

I didn't like the local bike shop's inventory or service. Sucks cause the old mechanic and store hand were nice friendly people, new people blow. So I've decided to up the limit to $400 shipped but don't mind keeping it under budget for the parts bin to grow.
So..from Dan's...what would you chose?

I don't need a front brake and now I noticed that rear cassettes are replacing the freewheels? Been a while since i was into BMX's.

I'd go with the Kink personally.

i wouldn't go with any of those bikes. look at the stolen wrap, and the dk 6 pack. both $329 i believe and have full chromoly frames and good parts packages.

You want a full chromo frame if you don't want to bend it.

Thanks, now i am choosing between the DK six pack and Stolen Wrap. I really like the color scheme of the Stolen...might be what I go for.
Is there any disadvantages of going for a dirt-jumping bike over a street/vert built bike? I won't be doing any flat land but want to go to the parks to ride.

I personally like the wrap better, especially considering they changed it over to a mid bb this year. not many people really consider there bike specific for one thing anymore, besides flatlanders. both those bikes will be good for any type of riding you plan to throw at it. besides flatland, but flatland sucks anyway.

Go for the Wrap and have fun with it.

Hey bud, im 38 and a bit bigger then you. I have a collection of bikes rangeing from 20 to 29ers. My fave play bike is my 2008 redline cruiser. 24 inch wheels..very roomy and all chromo...its under 200 bucks to...well at my LBS it was. If you are just wanting to mess around i would consider that or the dk general lee 24. I think you will like a 24 better imho.

It's set in stone AND by the time I get it in I'll have another paycheck.
Now the wait begins....

After waiting, having some issues with my billing and shipping address not matching(recent move), and waiting for a refund...the Wrap is on it's way. Starting Monday the 7th :twitchy:.
And if anyone needs it, use code: bmx08 for free shipping, good until sometime in August.
This next week is going to go by so slowly.

Got it...and I need to adjust the bars and get used to not sitting on a seat. I have to run back to work(on break) so I'll get a better ride in tonight.
