We live at the base of the mtns so I have no choice but to ride uphill eventhough I don't feel like it. We travel on the weekends to ride the trail so today I figure what the heck, just do it!
I ride out the door on my Cannondale cause the Lemond is out of service again. The BB cartridge is toast!:( So I start up the mtn, my legs are stiff and the saddle seems low. I look at the speedometer and hey, I'm flying up the mtn at 11mph eventhough I feel tight all over. I climb the 3 mile hill but I feel good ut I raise the saddle a bit. Ahhh even better! Usually I ride down then do another climb up. Today, heck with it, I'm going all the way up into the mtns. I get up to the ranger staion and I'm feeling good.
I descend back to the lower level and hey, I'm doing it again. This time I slow the pace and take my time. I get up to the top and I still feel good. I'm doing it again, so I do! I ended up with 28 miles of climbing when I figured on 15! Sometimes you just gotta go with it!
Climbed into the mtns and did the originally planned climb 3 times! One section is fast! I rode the brakes for a bit , not too much so they don't cause a heat induced blowout. I get to the steep section and let her rip. I give a quick glance back first, there is one car but a ways back. It won't catch me. It's a 35 mile zone but the car does catch up. Since it's 35 I let go and I'm at 43. Hope there aren't any cops around!:D
I get to the stop sign and stop. I look over at the car and it's a mighty fiine looking femile smiling at me. She waves then drives off. I just smile then hit the road, I'm no player!:roflmao2:
Just one of them days when you feel good, the chickadees are smiling and everything is fine! Just don't tell Gina or she'll take away my Cannondale!:crash::crash::crash:...that would ruin the day!:D
