Europe - Blinking and bright lights a problem in Germany?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hiya,
I'm moving back to Germany, and I plan on bringing my Trek 520 back with the brightest lights possible to keep me commuting by bike till growing grey and old. So has anyone had experience using non-certified lights or blinking ones? I know their not allowed, but do the police care?
Thanks in advance for the input!
Lots of people here have mega bright lights, and blinkies as well. There's no problem.
I too have had no problems. I have some bright lights for winter and blinking ones for traffic.
great to hear guys, thanks!
Any one there in Germany running the Dinotte's? I wonder if they'll bother me with these aircraft-landing-light-type lights?
So You see what I mean by Bright!

I don't know of any Germany specific forums but I can tell you that there is a very good bike shop down in H-berg that is American owned. I will ask my buddy what the name is, I have heard folks talking about the group rides during the week out the the shop but as I live in Wiesbaden I have never made it down there for one of the rides. I'll post the name here once I get it, but if you are already in country just ask the folks at the local Outdoor Rec what it is (assuming you are associated with the military).
The Ramstein Area Cycling Club has a forum, you'll have to google it because I don't rember the url. They're an American club out of the air base there.
