Apparently riding on PCH in OC and racing crits just isn't enough, so I decided to get a motorcycle (well actually I was planning and saving for it for a while). Original plan was getting used, but after multiple unsuccessful attempts, and shaking my head at how people over value their bikes I decided to go with new. Yep against all advice I as a complete newb rider went with something above 250CC and new. :innocent: Plus with only MCF course I rode it from Inglewood to Irvine, using SoCal freeways. Big thanks to Quantum for driving my car back. :thumb:

Nice bike Umney...how many mpg does it get? I saw 91 octane was $4.69 on Alton last night!

Will calculate next time I fill it. I heard high 40's low 50's. Much better then low 20s on my car. :thumb:

This is obviously a bicycle forum, since nobody's told you to chop the rear fender. :p

Not to mention HOV lane access, and lanesplitting ability.

Moto is the only way to go for commutes of any appreciable length on busy freeways.

Too bad I killed (Didn't wreck it, seized the engine. I'm not sure which is more stupid.) my moto a couple months ago. :(

That is on my list to do. Right after frame sliders. ;)

What's all that metal in the middle... and where are the pedals?

hmm? Not sure what you mean. In the middle there is an engine bolted to the frame. The shifter, brake pedals are not really visible on side shot, but you can see them (at least the brake pedal) on the front shot.

It was purely tongue-in-cheek, posed as if I thought it was a bicycle and had never seen a motorcycle before.

Time for one of these... You can save gas riding your motorcycle to races.

When I fueled today I calculated mpg. In city riding with my sub optimal shifting (still learning), it was almost 55 mpg. That so beats 20mph my car gets on city streets, 28mph on freeways with little stops.

P.S. I think it was a right choice going with this instead of 250 everyone recommended.

Was that you on Como this morning wearing Hammer bibs and UCI jersey? I thought it might be, but don't recognize you with the new bike, kit and no cast. Anyway, if it was, that was fun trading pulls up El Toro.

Yeah, it was me. :D Today was fun. Almost made it to the top of that climb, after the biker bar, with lead group. Although chase group was so disorganized! As soon as we get rotating paceline going either someone doesn't pull through forming a gap and breaking it, or someone does superman pull.

P.S. I love that ridley, it fits me like a glove, and ride is so solid.
