Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Im just bummed I was so late getting to the party.
Im in West Frisco and Ive read that a bunch of yall ride up near me farily often. Maybe Ill even get up the nerve to try and tag along sometime..ya never know, it could happen. :)
Ive checked out mapmyride.com for rides, but if anyone has a favorite(s)(in the 20-50mi range) up near me, Id love to know about em. Im getting too attached to all the cows along FM 1385, and I think I need a new route. :D
Thanks!

I've got a few loops on MapMyRide (http://www.mapmyride.com/user_profile?username=mocella), but these all start near Preston/Eldorado - not sure how far that is for you to hook into.
I probably wouldn't do the 25-mile Quick Ride during the week since that puts you on Eldorado for quite a ways where it is one lane, and traffic is never very forgiving along those stretches.
If you take the Panther Creek Basic Loop, there are a few spots where we add on a few miles - like taking a left on Stonebridge and heading to 380 and turning around will give you 3ish miles. As we get into summer and more daylight, we'll probably extend that loop out around the McKinney Airport for several extra miles.
mocella: Thanks for the links. Im fairly lucky in that I have an odd hours job, so Im able to ride during the day on weekdays and avoid a lot of the later afternoon/early evening traffic that beats everyone else down. But I agree with you 100% about Eldorado...that road is vicious, even when it's just the soccer moms on it at 11am on a Tuesday. :)
How is the traffic on Coit/FM 71 north of 720? My wife used to live right over there at College and Coit so Ive ridden Coit south of 720, but never north of it.
Thanks!

Coit is pretty much quiet, even when we're heading across that stretch at 7:30 on a weeknight. The stretch along Brinkman Ranch is pot-holed, but the city fills them in from time to time.
Pretty much the entire of the Panther Creek Loop is ride-able in the evening - Rockhill/Virginia is the "worst" of it, and that's not even too bad.
