Bought 2 Sun EZ-1 Super Cruisers last night. Wife's first (real) bike, my first recumbent. Awesome:

So Mrs. Slothman is going to join me biking! Not quite the type of biking I'm used to, but ... that's okay! I'm excited. :thumb: She's an Athena, so together we'd be a Clena, or an Athlyde, right? haha.

In other news, I've just started riding to work. It's 16 miles to and 14.5 from (detour in the morning for showers). I've done it twice now, and it's pretty awesome. If I do this all summer I might gain Emeritus status sooner than expected. :D


Anybody here have any experience with these Sun EZ-1s? Anybody ever use their quadrabent kit? My wife is really interested in it.

Thats pretty cool. There is a guy on the trails that rides one, his looks just like that. Are they fairly easy to keep upright..i mean like a normal bike? Ive used the recums at the gym and i always feel im falling out of them.

It's a little wobbly at first I hear, but you get used to it. I've only ridden it for a very short amount of time, and I'm pretty wobbly. Right now accelerating from a dead stop is the hardest part for me. But I've only ridden it twice, and for no more than 2 minutes. Can't wait to try 'em out more!

I ride a Vision recumbent, and it took about 5 miles before I was comfortable on it. One trick, always be in a low gear to start off. On a bent, you cant push off with your feet, so it helps to be in a fairly low gear.

That's sound advice. Thanks! 5 miles, eh? That shouldn't be a problem.
Problem is ... we're not sure when our first ride can be! She goes in for wisdom teeth removal tomorrow, so the weekend is probably out. Weekdays are pretty much always out, so perhaps next weekend. :( Neither of us want to wait that long!
