Just upgraded my wife from a '88 Maruishi with d.t. shifter to a new(er) '04 Giant OCR3. I know the Flightdeck cyclometer will show what gear you are in & considered it to help her keep track along with the other info. My ? is, is it worth the money for the setup? I put her CHEAPIE Wallyworld Schwinn cyclometer on for now, but would like to get a little nicer one for her.

She feels way more comfortable on this bike than the old one, & can't wait to ride after work since I picked it up on Monday. She said it feels just like when she hops on her Trek WSD MTB.

Thank you for the advanced feedback,
Chris

Chris,

You'll hear a number of people really complain about the Flight Deck, but I absolutely love my Flight Deck. While it's not the most immediately responsive of systems (which isn't a huge issue for me because I'm not a racer) the gear display functionality is the real reason I love the system. My biggest complaint, however, is that I do "on occasion" accidentally hit one of the buttons which stops the device from collecting distance and time, but it'll still display your speed. If they could ever get around this problem, and add a backlight and 12/24 hour clock, I think it would be an absolutely fantastic system. Just my 2 cents...
