Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Trek Moby Gel Gloves

Just picked some of these up and now wonder why I waited so long. I got them because I have to bend over more on the new Trek FX as opposed to my more upright riding position on the Navigator, and this puts more weight on my hands. These gloves are fantastic! I wonder if this is what it may be with bike shorts vs regular shorts for the rear.

Another thing I noticed is that with this bent over riding position my weight seems to be more evenly distributed between the front and rear wheels. My rear feels far less sore after a 40 mile ride, and I'm using the same seat. I'm also hoping it helps prevent rear wheel problems that I had with the upright riding position on the Navigator. The new riding position just feels so much better to me, comfort, control, and pedaling.

I think I'll order the baggy type from the web site you posted yesterday. I just can't see myself in the tight spandex looking type. It would probably be a little too hot and humid down here in Florida to wear regular shorts over those tight fitting bike shorts as was suggested, but that was a very good idea that I hadn't thought of.

Tom speaks the truth. I have never found a pair of baggies that were comparably comfortable. That doesn't mean you should sport Lycra everywhere, but no one is going to look at you funny for wearing them on a bike ride. That's their intended use.

Pearl Izumi has some padded briefs for under shorts that work great.

I used them when I was commuting to work where I could wear shorts. Never had to change. You get use to walking around in them as well.
