I see you two are of the same mind on this matter.

If you explain your desires, don't apologize for them. There's nothing wrong with that.

Why did you want to delete this post? I read it and was waiting to see the responses. Hope you are OK. Sounded pretty scary.

Ok, I'll go ahead and winge (British for whine, spelling correct Stapfam?)

In the past my normal blood pressure was 112/64. In the past month and a half I have been running 3 miles 3x per week and working out with weights. It really had increased my energy level. However, the past month my blood pressure has been going up - 148/90 and yesterday 168 / 100. The only change to medications has been the addition to statins. My cholesterol is high enough for three.

Yesterday I ended up in the ER with low oxygen and high blood pressure. My buddy who is a Profusionist (runs the heart lung machine at the OR for open heart - CABBAGES - hows that for an acronym?) wants me to get a cardiac enzyme test run because I exhibited five symptoms

High Blood Pressure
Increased Pulse Level
Low Oxygen Level
Sweating (couple of times)
Pain in the back (heck, after getting rear ended, working out with weights and going to the DC I'm not sure it is significant.)

I didn't have any chest pain or pain down the arm, etc. They gave me oxygen and blood pressure med's and when I left the ER it was 120/70. I slept like a log last night and have a follow up with the Primary Care Doc tomorrow.

Have any of you guys had any episodes of high blood pressure unexpected onset?

Stay tuned!

One more thing. I feel like a slug on the BP meds. My HR is 44 BPM per the HR Monitor after carrying a backpack full of books upstairs. Can any of you tell me what to expect from BP Med's? If I am in that good of shape maybe I schedule a double Century. I wish.Written on TREO

My BP meds lowered my heart rate to 31.
I felt like a zombie and quit taking it.
Feel great now at 140 / 78 / 46

Update:

Good news! I have no cardiac enzymes to worry about. A ton of muscle enzymes (working out to hard and these enzymes are a result of breaking down muscle). Doubled the BP med's. I actually began to feel normal tonight. Well, normal for ??????

Doc said to lighten up on the intensity and keep up with time.

When I first started lifting weights, my "muscle enzymes" went WAY up. They settled down after a short time.
