View Full Version : What's this plastic bit with my Dinotte?

I ordered front and rear lights in the Dinotte sale, and they arrived today. Interestingly, in a very quick daylight test, the Dinotte doesn't appear any brighter than my $20 Ultrafire Cree Q5 light, but time will tell, plus it's gorgeous, and should have better runtime.

Anyhoo, I got everything I expected - 2 lights, 2 battery packs and clips, 2 straps for the packs etc. Additionally, I got 2 spare battery clips (great), and a weird plastic dealy. It has a circular "pipe" section, and then above that, a semcircular section which appears to be ideal for the light to fit on. I presume it's a mount of some sort, but what the devil is it for?

Sounds like it is a helmet mount.

Excellent! How does it work? (I'm sure I'm being thick).

Actually nevermind. It's a seatpost mount for the taillight.

You got it. :thumb: And, if you need to, you can put the light underneath the pipe.

How do you like the tail light?

You won't be able to tell for sure until you test them at night. I have been fooled by looking at my new lights in daylight and thinking they weren't as bright as I thought, but then at night realizing I was wrong. The 200l is a nice little light and I can see why it is so popular. The tail light is insanely bright though lol.

Walk 6 or 7 blocks away from the lights and then look back and compare. You'll be amazed!
