I am in need of some new tyres for my rando bike. Any good suggestions?

I've heard all kinds of good about Grand Bois tires (available from Vintage Bicycle Press), but they are pricey (~$50 per). From firsthand experience, Panaracer Paselas are outstanding - inexpensive, tough, smooth riding, reasonably fast, good cornering. And they're available in everything from 700x28c to 700x37c, as well as several 26" sizes, with and without kevlar belts.

Kind of a broad question, mate. I'm using Grand Bois Hetre tires on my rando bike. These are 650b, 42mm wide, and red. They're the best rando tires in the world, for me. But mine are the only pair I've ever seen in person, so obviously what's best for me isn't for most people.
So what, specifically, are you looking for from tires?

I ended up going with some Vittoria tyre's. I do not remember the exact model buut they sounded to be pretty good.
I also had to go with 25mm or less tyres do the clearence on my road bike.

FWIW, I'm liking the ride on my Conti 4 Season Grand Prix, 28c's, at 100psi. It's a "Roubaix" style tire, so made both for racing / lighter weight and flat resistance.
If flat resistance is critical, you might want to go for some Gatorskins. They're a little heavy though.

I like 23c Fortezza Tricomps. I run the identical tires on my tandem (300 lb team weight). Good tires. Corner well, good in wet, nice road feel, low resistance both rolling and aero. Very resistant to cuts when new.
