Howdy Guys and Gals! I am newbie in that I am getting back into cycling after about a 8 year hiatus. I rode a lot durning my childhood from 8 until about 18 and then went to college and had interest that did not include cycling. I logged lots and lots of miles previous. I just went and picked up my new bike tonight that I found from someone on craigslist. I got a carbon fiber bike which is incredible how the technology has changed so much in so little time. I am starting to commute back and forth to work and looking for some folks to ride with recreationally/competitively. Cycling was absolutely a passion of mine years back and looking forward to conversing with everyone and hopefully meeting some folks to ride with in my area and/or Fort Worth etc. Anyway thought I would introduce myself and welcome anyone that is looking for a training buddy that is not up to speed yet but looking to get that way sooner rather than later with a 30 mile commute round trip it shouldn't be too long before I am up to shape. Have a great one and happy trails!

Put the hammer down,
Brad

Got out and rode today. Good to be back in the saddle. I rode out past the lake in Cleburne but looking forward to hopefully riding with some of you guys soon. Got 14.9 miles before dark in and averaged about 14 mph. I was pleased after so much time off. Ready to get back in the swing and ride with some groups so not so mundane alone :)

FWBA does quite a few group rides out in that area. They are a good club and usually have a good range of fitness levels at their rides.

I work in Cleburne and live in Keene. If you need someone to ride with let me know. There is a pretty good size group in the Keene that meets, I have forgotten when but I know Sunday morning for sure. They're are pretty fast, well fast for me.

Welcome back to cycling! :) My 18-year hiatus from cycling, '80 to '98, has yours beat by a bit. Nothing to brag about, of course.

I ride out of Irving but occasionally do overnight trips to Cleburne SP or Dinosaur Valley. Nice area. Welcome to the Forum
