Santa may be bringing one for Christmas. I was looking for opinions/comments on either of these framesets (2003, 2004) with the carbon seat stays and carbon forks.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

I was actually looking into buyiing the Aliante a few months ago. But the price was on the high end compared to my Bianchi SL Lite. I know Cinelli used to have an amazing reputation back in the day, but I'm not sure about now.

I just started riding a Cinelli Starship and it's a smooth riding aluminum frame. I would have to think that the carbon stays would help even more. Post up pics when you get it!

I rode a Starship for a year and I am now on a different bike. The Cinelli was a sweet ride. It climbed like a scalded ape, accelerated when I wanted it to and it was good for 8 hours in the saddle without extra fatigue. The problem was the durability factor. I cracked the down tube twice. Both times were on a tough (local) mountain road. I probably stressed out the frame and then pushed it over the limit on the climb. I also never noticed a weight limit when I was looking to buy, but I am convinced that lighter riders would make out better than I. I spent most of last year hovering between 185 and 190 pounds. and had 7,800 miles between 2 identical Starlight frames. It may sound like I am whining, but I loved the ride. My new bike didn't have much of a chance when I started riding (after Cinelli). It was like comparing a new girlfriend with the ex. I have now figured out that the new ride is very good and my old prejudice is gone.
Bottom lines: Sweet ride
Worry about durability
