Bicycle Mechanics - Diamond Retail Services (CaptainBob?)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

A short while ago a member [I believe it was CaptainBob but he is showing no posts] posted looking for mechanics to do contract bike assembly in certain areas of the country. I was interested in finding out more info and e-mailed the company. I did receive back a sort of application, but had more questions I wanted answered before proceeding. Since then I have tried calling the contact name I was given, and others in the company directory, but have found that their voice mailboxes are all full.
I'm interested if anyone else contacted them and what you've found?
Thanks

Bumpity bump. Was I the only one interested in making a little money on the side?

That request for information from Captain Bob asked for my bank account number and my social security nimber. The only thing missing was the word "Nigeria". Since no further communication with this guy is possible, I have to think the whole thing was a scam.

I agree. The email that i recieved had an attachment with all sorts of legal documents and whatnot that they wanted filled out, even though I just emailed asking about more information about the company. What kind of business has someone fill out all these forms before interviewing them, or at least talking with them? I took that as a red flag, and didnt take it any further. Something just didnt quite seem right about them.

Well, I didn't fill anything out, either. Didn't even read it close enough to see what numbers they're not getting that they asked for. I scanned the e-mail looking for any compensation info. Guess they weren't offering any of that. :)
Too bad. I could have used a little extra cash.

I emailed them. They weren't interested in telling me what the pay was. If they aren't proud enough to tell me what they pay, I'm not interested in the job.
