I'll be out there Saturday doing some repeats in preparation for the Death Ride. Just wondering if anyone else plans on being out there. I'll be riding solo, hoping to do 3 accents at least. I plan on starting at south gate and alternating north-south from there on. Shooting to start between 10-11. Look for a dark blue Calfee and say hey if you see me. :thumb:

I won't be there.. riding to RH Phillips that day, but if I WERE, you'd see me multiple times, as I'd still be climbing one bloody side, as you were doing your repeats....:roflmao2:

You live in Sac, right?

Join us for a training ride out of Auburn instead. It's going to be a bit of a challenge and I think it will be less boring than repeats up Diablo.

Lemme know and I'll send you the details.

I'm in Davis. I'd love to join but I have a BBQ to attend in San Ramon Saturday evening. That's why I'm doing the Diablo thing. Thanks for the offer.... maybe in the next couple weeks we can join up for another hill ride. I have some catching up to do, all my miles have been flat lately. I guess all these headwinds count for something, right?

Alrighty then. Just think of riding in the headwinds as the equivalent to riding small hills. You'll do fine.

Have a good time. Should be some other people on the hill doing the same thing.

What, am I not supposed to be climbing big hills w/ my 39/23? ;)

I did Morgan Territory and Diablo last Sunday. I didn't really dig the loop - Morgan is pretty but the road isn't in great shape (except for the descent which was stellar) but I didn't really like the suburban riding through Clayton and Danville.

I loved Diablo thought and am planning on the repeats ride this Sunday. Wouldn't be boring at all, just a lot of nice scenic climbing. At 3k per ascent that is a nice 9,000 foot day you have planned!

More power to ya! I'm speaking strictly for myself. Prior to this bike, I was riding a triple. I'm a spinna!

Yeah, I can't see myself getting too bored. I love seeing the bay area from above.

I'd join you but I'll be doing the Sierra Century this Saturday. I'll probably do 3 or 4x diablo next week.

I haven't climbed Diablo in a long time, but I'm doing Penn Velo ride on Saturday. Sunday still holds some possibilities.

Rats! I'm working tomorrow afternoon and hoping to do north side repeats Sunday, in preparation for the Hill Climb in 2 weeks. I need to see how slow I am, and why not find out now?

I'd much rather have company -- suffering loves company ;) -- so maybe another time.

Have fun!

Well, looks like everyone is at least riding somewhere this weekend. Hopefully Diablo is not windy like it is here in the valley.

Anyone doing hill repeats Sunday? I don't even remember the area at all, as the last time I did Diablo was 3 or 4 years ago.

I am -- my racing buddy and I will be riding up the north side (Diablo Hill climb in 2 weeks; we need the practice), probably down the south side and up again, and maybe to the top. I have to show property in the late afternoon so time may be a factor as far as going all the way up is concerned. We'll at least do the north and south sides.

I'll send you a PM w/my cell # so we can coordinate a meeting, if you want. We plan to leave CowTown at 9, and hope to be headed up the hill by 10:15.

Changing my mind- now going for Tam tomorrow morning. Wave if you see me!
