I got a "looking for info" thread at C&V.
Time to get the wrenches out again.

Not sure Tom but the rear Derailleur says "Suntour Seven"

The tires will need to be replaced but the brakes are good and strong and it shifts nice. Gonna have to get used to the friction shifting though.

About a month ago my wife found an old 1977 Schwinn Varsity in excellent shape at a yard sale for $15. Fun to have for the nostalgia factor and just to kick around on.

I've seen a few Varcitys around and I really like those but the ones i've seen have been really rough and would cost too much to rebuild.
Yours is nice and when I'm garage saleing I'm always on the lookout for the stuff I like. Nice bikes being just one of the stuff.
That does it! I'm gonna start searching garage sales more often. I usually just ignore them, but I'm gonna turn down streets and follow a few signs just to scan for any interesting bikes.

Be careful, that's how you wind up abusing Craig's List because you get too many bikes to store in the Garage and they wind up over running your living room :0That does it! I don't have any pictures, but I've got an old Nishiki touring bike (18 speeds, cantilever brakes, eyelets on forks for rack, even an antique Brooks rack on the back, all in perfect shape) that I got at a garage sale. It had a complete set of panniers on it. I told the guy I didn't need the bike, but I'd give him $20 for the panniers. He said it was a deal, but I had to take the bike as well. :)
I just got a 10 speed Sekine  for free the owner was going to throw it out. It was collecting dust in his basement.
