Road Cycling - My New Ride

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Must be that time of the year when everyone gets new bikes.

It's that time of year yes, but I ordered it three months ago. The time has more to due with the release of the new bikes by some companies. :D

Cool. How do you like it? Are those 650c wheels?

Unless someone switched on me they are 700c wheels. The frame is 56.

Gorgeous bike. Wow that is hot.
Where do you ride in Sacramento? I'm in Davis most of the year and I just got a bike two weeks ago.

I live in the Pocket area and ride the streets for short ride and my next choice is the American River Bike Trail which goes from Discovery Park to Folsom Lake with many connecting routes. I really like your Fuji, I have owned them and love them. I have a link below to read about the routes and clubs.

Quoting Emeril because it is very appropriate... "Oh Yeah, Baby!"

No new bike here. :(
But I'm happy with my 2-1/2 year old baby. :D

Way to go.... Don`t recal ever seeing a felt cycle before, certainly not around my neck of the woods.
Black bikes look so classy and sassy with the white decals. Guess I`m biased though as my steed is the same finish....

Thanks for the kind thoughts. It is raining today, so I may have to wait a day before I take much of a ride.
Felt is a smaller and newer company. For this reason I think you may get more bang for the buck. Check out the site below.

is this the same company that was around in the early 90s? if i remember right the guy worked closely with easton and had the lightest alum. bike in production...it was a little too fragile. I heard that the company folded in the late 90s.
and the real question is how does it ride?

Jim Felt did work with Easton from what I have heard, but the rest I know nothing about. I have tried a few of the bikes and they all ride great. This one has not been on much of any rides other than a trial ride and it felt great. It will take a while to give a good evaluation. For more information on Felt, check out the site listed on previous post.

Very pretty!!! You should have had it out today. I swear I saw more new bikes on the American River Trail than ever. I rode from Folsom to Discovery and back today and was just amazed at how many people were on the trail, looked more like a Memorial Day than a 48 degree day! I saw three different LAs today, all in full USPS gear. LOL!

I made it out for a short ride after a short run on Christmas Day. I had to travel the day you rode, but kept wishing I was home for a ride. Today looks promising, but not to far, the bike needs a little more adjustment before a long ride.
I've had my bike for about a fortnight now - Bianchi Boron in Team Coast colours with Campag Centaur/Chorus groupset and Proton wheels. My biggest challenge is adjusting to cleats after twenty years in clips. I've fallen twice so far - luckily only damaged the bar tape so far.
Hopefully a pic is attached.

Adjust on the fly.
Nice ride! I have a 03 Felt F65. I love it. You are right you do get more bang for your buck.
As for Jim Felt, I think he did have a company that went under. He has been making custom tri bikes for a long time. He is regarded as one of the tri bike gurus, especially in the west.
