I thought it was a perfect day for a bike ride. Went to golden gate park via john daly to great highway. I wouldn't have minded the wind that much except for the beach sand. Feel like I've been sandblasted one shade lighter. Cleaning beach sand out of my ears right now. My already slow speed was reduced by half.

Ouch. Sucks to get sand blown in your eyes too.

I play tennis too. Wind makes tennis entirely too random. If it stops soon it's OK with me.

Yesterday convinced me, eyewear is my next purchase.
Sucks to get sand blown in your eyes too.

I've wrap-around glasses on...with the wind from Wednesday to Friday, quite a bit of dust still get into my eyes. A few times the gust was so strong, it blew road debris into my face, which actually hurts quite a bit... Probably need a motorcycle helmet...

Wind is my only complaint about south bay weather.
Still getting plenty of crap in my eyes even with decent wraparound glasses. But then, I have long-ish eyelashes and am always getting crap in my eyes even while sitting at my desk at work. grr. I hope I never have to wear contacts.

Although I really enjoy the nice color graphs that I get, one of two reasons I like my power meter is for days like that in the wind. Otherwise, I would fight like hell to attempt to "maintain" a speed that I think is right, but keeping the watts where they need to be, regardless of how slowly I feel I am going, allows me to get to the distances with the correct exertion. Mostly comes into play when doing tris, but I feel for you, as I ride the GG Bridge home on days I ride to work from Marin. The wind at the towers is killer.
