Pacific Northwest - Eugene fatality...ghost bike?

Sorry if this has been posted already...could find anything with a search. A cyclist was killed in downtown Eugene on Mon. 6/2. http://www.kezi.com/article.aspx?id=38614&section=news&contentCat=local. Would anyone locally be interested in trying to set up a 'Ghost Bike?' The preliminary evidence suggests that it was probably the cyclist's fault, but it would be a good reminder for drivers and cyclists.

I'd go for a ghostride. I actually rode by the scene, but didn't know what happened until I hear it on the radio later that day. It's horrible when these things happen. I've been much better about riding my helmet during commutes since.

I thought maybe the Center for Appropriate Transport or Greater Eugene Area Riders or even local bike shops might donate a beater bike, to be installed as a memorial/reminder at the site.

I went by the intersection of 13th and Willamette today (Monday), there is a ghost bike in place.

Seems that the bike made a left turn in front of the car. Hard to imagine such poor judgment, he was a very smart guy. Sad.

Well, it's good to see that someone's on the ball here in Bluegene. I wonder who installed it?
