Stealth setup

Whats the most stealth setup from a visual standpoint that you know of (if you have link to picture would be appreciated.) I've gotten to where I really like my road bike but still think it would be fun to try an electric. Every setup I have seen looked very obvious to be an electric, I am more thinking somthing like the batteries in a bag on the rear rack and the motor as stealth as possible, as opposed to a bunch of electronics and wires everywhere just waiting for a thief to walk by.

Safest thing for your battery is to take it with you whenever you leave your bike locked outside.

Stealthiest motors, visually, are probably the smaller (geared) hubmotors. "puma" is one.

The gearless hubmotors are the stealthiest sounding - pretty near dead silent. But they're big, ten inches across or so, I think.

If you have seen Zeuser's signature you know he has a very cool looking bike with an enclosed frame at the bottom of his posts. How come electric doesn't go that way, with narrow batteries enclosed in the middle.

Where is the motor on that yellow bike?

I must say, that is one fantastic stealth job! If that is an ebike (and I have to assume it is because the caption talks about the batteries) then it is one of the best stealth jobs I have seen. I can't spot the motor at all.

By the way, there is a typo in your link to the yellow bike, but I figured it out...

I would like to know if one could paint a front motor hub to camoflauge it, if you will. What colors to use. I've only seen them in silver or black.

Many people can't tell it's an ebike. For most people they think it's just a regular bike with a bag.

Very nice bikes guys I'm impressed. I'll be honest I would cable, chain and u-lock aif I had one of those out and was planning to leave it more than an hour.

I have just gotten into a conversion kit about a month ago. I had commuted to work in the past, but for some reason as the years went by, the valley that I would ride into would somehow get deeper, and the hills higher. I converted my old sears 18 speed with a kit form itselectric.ca and like it very much. Its a Chrystalite 408 with a 36 volt SLA battery. I went for the SLA for the cost and quick availability.

So far I commute 5 km each way to work with a hill of 216 foot rise in 8/10 of a mile on the return trip after work. On wednesdays I travel up the opposite side of the valley to look after a radio broadcast tower. That is a rise of 660 feet in 3.2 kms. That one you climb all the way. So with me pedaling and the hub motor uh..... hubbing! we make the trip, the roll back down over the bridge of the river up the other side of the valley to where I live, that is a one way trip of 11.7 km. Its great! Over the years I had used that bike to commute to work. Without the electric assist it was easy to find excuses not to ride to work, if it was windy/rainy, or I felt lazy that morning. Not anymore! I look forward to the ride every day now.

I changed the handle bars so I can sit more upright, the batteries are under the saddle bags on the rear rack, most people do not know its electric. Some think I have a big brake hub on the front.

Find a conversion kit you can afford for right now, then you will be hooked.
I looked at BionX, but every dealer in my area (500km away), they were backordered. So the next best in my mind was the Chrystalite kit. Each component is replaceable and upgradable.
