My 1982 Bianchi Super Sport that I've owned since new (I was 14 years old).

Tho I've gone from 216 to 190 since Feb of this year....I'm a clyde at heart. This is the first time I've been under 200 lbs in 8 years. This bike has helped get me there:
Maybe not as vintage as some...but it's over the 15 year mark. '91 or '92 Cannondle R400 which was free from a friend. This is how it looked when he gave it to me:

With a few upgrades:

It's now sporting:
Nitto Technomic Deluxe stem
Ritchey bars
Fizik Arione (LOVE this saddle!) & Thomson post
Stripped & polished the fork (by hand...still need to get it on a buffing wheel).
Shimano 600 headset
Campy Chorus 8spd shifters (w/ a shimano 7spd cassette on the back)...also free from my buddy!
Chorus rear der, Veloce front der...freebie's!
Centaur brakes
Also have a new Centaur polished alloy crankset/BB to replace the worn RX100's.
I'm trying to track down a Campy 8 speed rear hub to build w/ a NOS Mavic MA2 to replace the rear wheel...the rear is a bit beat up.
Gonna ride this thing down to 180 lbs & then it's time for a new bike!

I was thinking about riding more and getting a better bike, and I just found these forums… As a big guy (6’4” 295lb) the advice in here has been very welcome!
These may be more “Retro” than vintage, but what the heck. This first bike may show the very reason why I’m a Clyde…

A Schwinn cruiser with an internal 7-speed hub and coaster brake. Just the ticket for a run to the store.
And then there is the Clyde sized bike for a Clyde sized guy. A “Monster Cruiser”.
A nearly seventy pound single speed beast with 36” wheels. They aren’t making them anymore, not that they made very many to start with. So I’m gonna call it “Vintage”

I have started looking for a longer distance bike to get into a little better shape. I want to thank all of you who post the information that you do.

very cool build. I would like to bump up to a modern wheelset on teh bike i just bought. How difficult was it to "spread" the frame apart?
Thanks!
Spreading the frame was fairly straightforward using the instructions on Sheldon's site http://www.sheldonbrown.com/frame-spacing.html
The trickiest part is making sure you spread both sides evenly. I used the string method for measuring this.
