It’s time to submit your nominations for the 2003 Battery (AKA the Battys, the DCs, and the Bad Day in Philly) awards.

Has a post, question, news story, short story, or E-Bay item really annoyed you this year? Nominate them for a Batty.

Winners in each category will receive a wonderfully retro Radio Shack D battery fitted with after market yard dart fins straight from the black market.

These nifty CPSC-banned power sources are just the thing you need to clock someone in the head when the drive train doesn’t leave any time for coasting.

How did it really happen?

While quickly growing folk lore has it that my front wheel was attacked by a homeless guy with a frame pump, it was 100% operator error. Went over the top on a down hill doing +/- 20mph. Now I think I know what a pro crash feels like.

Luckily I more or less rolled and ended up on my back. Face planting like Mayo would have been no good.

Props to Schiek for calling his wife for the car, driving me to the ER and then waiting around until his next birthday for me to get out.

One of my great regrets is that when moved out of the rental house I was living in five years ago, I didn't take the yard darts I had found in the backyard shed.

What I want to know is what is up with you and the porn camera? That picture makes me want to rock back and forth (and not in a good way). Do you have Dorf411 chained up in your garage or something.

It is unfortunate, but if you really want you prize - it would have to be made out of these. How not hetero would that be?

Yeah, I did that didn't I. I bought a crank remover finally. 8.39 on sale. Less damage to the cranks.
