Anyone riding this tomorrow. I'm doing the 32 mile.

I'm set for the 100-miler. Hope to get most of it out of the way before the heat gets too bad...

How did you guys do in that heat? I wasn't able to do the full metric (only got in 54 miles) and noticed a lot of riders fading fast on the return.

I did OK in the heat. I left as early as I could. It didn't get real bad until 11:00am or so. I just kept up with the hydration. I ate a bit too much though. I always do that.
As I was coming down the last couple of miles into Reston, there was an ambulance on the trail. I think they were picking up somebody who had heat problems. He was sitting on the side of the trail and I didn't see any signs of other injuries. Hope he was OK.
I did alright, but I only did the 1/2 metric century so I left at 9:30 with the blast off and returned at 11:30. It was hot, but I survived. I did get a slight headache in the evening, but that was it.

I am glad you both survived with minimal problems. I saw that guy before the ambulance got there, I hope is doing better. Maybe next year the weather will be nicer.
