I've just decided to ride from Victoria BC to Jasper. I would love to hear any suggestions or tips on a route and places to stay and to visit.
I want to follow the Trans-Canada trail or other trails/smaller roads as much as possible and sleep in a mix of campsites and b&b/hostels.
This is what I have in mind:
I will start in Victoria and would like to ride to Nanaimo. What are my options for routes? Any trestle bridge type trails there?
Then check out Whistler. How can I get to Whistler and then back to Vancouver after? Are there any rail trails?
From Vancouver I want to follow the ttc mostly but I am up for any other suggestions. I would like to stop in Calgary, Banff and Jasper at the end. Nelson and Ainsworth (sp?) Hot Springs sound nice.
Anyone with up to date info on the trail, its conditions etc please let me know.
Any ideas on a time frame for this ride?
