To make a long story shorter...

I have been car-free but have a scooter I ride to work. I got into an accident on Thursday. I faired well with just some bruises thanks to my helmet, jacket, gloves, pants, etc. My scooter got pretty torn up, but managed to get me the 2 more miles home.

Anyways, moral of the story is that life is all about falling and getting back up. I was REALLY "down" because I JUST got my job and am getting settled in at the new place, money is really tight, and etc. I was offered a car from family but I refused to get back into those ruts. Tore down the scooter to access the damage. Mostly cosmetic, some broken switches, mirrors, etc. Headed out on the mountain bike to the local hardware store.

Check it out...

I'm just happy/proud I was able to pull through a stressful situation without aide of a car. I live close enough to work that if I absolutely had to I could bike commute. Its just not the safest route, and nowhere around it.
