What are your long distance cycling goals for the summer months? I find myself with two months of work-free existence, making me feel like a 19-year-old again (despite being the wrong side of 40). My long distance goals include the following:
- Make both June and July months in which I cycle 1000 miles (a bit of catching up to do for June!)
- Complete a double century (my first for many a year)
- Try for a 5 hour century
- Complete at least two rides up our (Thailand's) highest mountain. At a mere 25 miles it hardly qualifies as long distance, but the 8,500 feet of climbing make it a monster.
- Do a mini-tour (about 3 days) on some of the mountainous roads around the north of Thailand along the border with Burma
Success in meeting these goals will be due in some part to the encouragement and advice found on this forum.
So how about you? Anyone planning a trip to this part of the world?
