Puttin' up my reports. Anybody and everybody is welcomed to join in. It aint just about me! Just don't want to invade another's report or picpost without permission!:thumb:
6/08 Sunday..... 40 miles/3:07 ride time. Rode around home again, Upland to Sierra and the 15 FWY. Pretty happy cause Gina did the same course but with 10 extra miles and more hills. AND, she lifted her average 1/2 a mile an hour today.

I found myself with an hour to kill, so rather than obsessively post to Bikeforums, I jumped on the bike and went looking for the entrance to River Road, a well-known bicycling route in my new neighborhood.
It was a very short ride, but I learned a little more about my local geography before I had to be back home.

I only mapped it one way, seeing as I took the same route back.
And, uh, South wasn't the direction I meant to go.

Hi Beans- Great post...looks like a nice ride. Wish I were there.... OK my ride report (I think this is what you meant - to join in).
Okay - I joined the Southern Bike League 8AM Alpharaetta Ride..they said newbies were welcome. So I met just 2 others - both in fabulous shape (oy Vey!). We went about 17 miles up and down hills..lots of em...rolling hills and then some. After a huge set of hills - they gave me a choice - continue to 23 mile ride - or go another way - less hillly for 7 miles or so...I chose the less hillly route. I mean I did do a lot of climbing for me... They gave me a lot of insturctions about how to ride in a group, etc. So it was a good experience...a little intimidating - especailly with the hills and trying to keep up. I think it took 1 hour 20 minutes but I am not sure if I stopped my bike computer at the right time... WHatever it was it was a hell of a ride.
I am not yet able to ride and shoot pictures- so here's me after the ride...73404

My son and I rode the unicycles around the local bike trail, about 3 miles. I was totally sweat-soaked at the end.

Unicycle? Crazy!:D. Good job Missy! Hills are tough till you get used to them. That's why I've got Gina out there!...Well that and gas to the flat trail is outrageous now:p..Like the pic, you look like you've been RIDING and the legs look cycle worthy!:D
Group ride around Madbury, Lee, and Newmarket, NH. Here's the uploaded ride data from my Garmin:

Turnout was low this morning, it was just me and one other person, so the pace was much higher than it would have otherwise been. I spent over an hour in HR zone 5 - wheeee!

Woke up today and figured you know, what the hell, it's a good day for a bike ride. The LHT may be at the shop, and the HR's wheel may be cracked, but the HR hasn't let me down yet. About 10:30am I left, 65 degrees and starting to drizzle. Told the fam I'd be back by noon, or maybe not.
EXCELLENT ride. Rained the whole time, I got pretty soaked, but had a smile on my face the entire time. Came back half covered in mud, but I didn't care, the 21 miles around town was JUST what I needed today.
Figure I'll ride it tomorrow too. And the next day. I asked the wheel to give me until Friday, and I'm guessing it will. Or it won't. All I needed was today, and it gave me a great run. :D

Amazing how that works, isn't it? My ride was in 94-degree heat, which I HATE, but I came back humming a little tune and being nice to my family.

25 miles today in a hot wind from a blast furnace. 95 degrees and felt like 105! 25 MPH headwinds and a lightly rolling route. Best part of the ride was when we stopped at the Igloo for Arctic Ice Slushes made with Orange Juice. I got major brain freeze and so did my ride partner, "J". :p
Feels great to be back out on the bike though. I'm having a ball and feeling stronger every ride. No pics today,as my batteries are dead on the Handlebar cam. I was able to push up to about 20 mph in the aerobars against that nasty wind too, at least for short bursts.! Man, I love 'em!

I had to do 25 miles on the rollers, as we were in our 3rd Tornado Warning in 4 days. I can't wait for this to go away. I wanna ride outside.

This morning the girlfiend and I did a very slow 10 mile ride and encountered these geese:

Then later in the afternoon when it got to 115 degrees I did a 22 mile ride on the bike paths here in Santa Clarita... :thumb:
I saw on the local town website that they were doing a 16 mile ride and calling it 'Trails Day.' So even though I haven't biked more than 6 miles in one shot in 10 years and would be pulling my two kids, I decided to go. (I'm not that bright.) There were a lot of hills, a lot of non-trail riding on 45 mph limit roads with no bike lane, the actual route was closer to 18 miles, and it was in the low 90s. I survived but was completely gassed after about 12 miles.

I did my first charity ride this morning - the Exeter Lions Bike Tour here in NH. Based out of Stratham Hill Park, I chose the 50 mile ride. It trumped my previous longest ride of about 35 miles.
45 cyclists registered for this distance. I ducked out early on my own at 840am, knowing the legions of roadies in full kit on fancy Cannondales would catch up. The ride started fast, with a touch of tailwind and slight descent, I averaged 20mph over the first three miles. The ride turned through Greenland, into Rye and to the NH coast near Odiorne Point State Park.
The NH coast route, 1A, is beautiful, and today it was showing off. The sun was blazing, as was the heat. The coast ride is known for brutal headwind. Thankfully today it was mostly crosswind - I was able to maintain 16-17mph pretty easily. The first service stop was at Rye Beach, at 16 miles.

Leg 2 continued south on 1A through Hampton Beach, which was completely packed. Nice to see because it's a complete ghost town from Labor Day to May. The second service stop was across the bridge in Seabrook, at 26 miles. This area provides a nice backdrop view of the Seabrook nuclear power plant. :)

We turned inland on route 286 at the Massachusetts border. I was concerned about water because the mile 26 service stop was the last on the route. I tucked in behind a few guys and followed into Amesbury. Not too tough. The route then turned north near South Hampton, and we headed home. It was blazing hot , but the route goes through a lot of woods so shade helped the miles pass.
I followed with other riders until about mile 38. I was getting low on water and was quite hot. The sweat streamed into my eyes and on my glasses. I dropped off and slowed down. A lot. Was able to climb the hill into Exeter, then putt along through the woods back into Stratham. I was alone the last 10 miles. Drank my last water at mile 47, and pushed one pedal in front of the other to the finish. Tasty grilled sausage and cold drinks awaited. Phew!
49.16 miles
2 hours, 58 minutes ride time
3 hours, 25 minutes total time
16.4 average - pretty proud of that, a lot of my commutes are slower
31.4 max
Ride completed on my '86 Bridgestone 500. Performed flawlessly the whole way. Only a few other C&V bikes there - the coolest of which was a Panasonic DX-3000.

Unfortunately no ride today. I did 53 miles (2' 53") yesterday in the rain and developed two nasty saddle sores.:twitchy: We've had a wet spring, but it looked ok when I started so I left my rain bike at home, oops.
So I took today off and went for a hike with my boys and better half.
Did my usual group ride this morning, 37 miles at an average 17.8 and an evening ride with the wife 11.5 miles at 11mph. Sorry, no pictures or data uploads :)

My wife's comment was "riding in the rain... and you are happy? Who are you and where is my husband!"
Sounds like it was similar all around the forum. Dang good day to be on a bike!

I know it's going to sound small compared to some of the stories here, but I managed to ride all my commuter routes Sunday - hot, humid, very windy at times, and about 10 miles of climbing. It's a start at being consistent anyway. But the bonus is that I now know I don't need the car for town trips if I don't want it :D

I guess I will add my $0.02. Had a poor riding week with only one commute and a short 4 mile ride to my basketball league. The weekend was looking pretty bleak for cycling opportunities due to kid's athletic events, a confirmation and a HS graduation, so I got up early on Saturday morning and decided to get in a little activity for me.
I tried this ride on Memorial Day and had to stop and catch my breath for five minutes on one of the hills. I think my average that day was around 14 mph. This time I was able to ride the entire distance without stopping once and I averaged 16 mph. It's amazing how few cars are out @ 0600 on a Saturday morning.
Ride Stats
22.4 miles
1:23:50
Avg. Speed 16 mph (best ever)
Arrived home to a nice hot breakfast. Overall a great way to start the weekend.
Had a HIlly 15 mile loop in 95 degree heat. I had to break off from the rest of the group and out 15 mile loop split as i gave my son on the TAB the choice of 30 or 15. it was hard to saty motivated with the constant DA are we lost how much longer. . but he was happy he did it.

Well I took the wife to her first organized ride in Lancaster County, PA. We wanted an early start as weather was to be hot and humid. Wife isn't quite into biking yet. I believe she enjoyed herself, but her 6 mile ride put her in nap mode in the afternoon. She also hasn't taken to any bike clothing yet.

Not being use to heat and humidity this year, I wasn't feeling so comfortable myself. I rode the 25 mile loop last year, but this year probably rode the slowest 6 miles of my life. This is Amish Country and did finally near end catch a wagon and wife on the same road. Can't tell from a still pic, but wagon was passing her.
