Bicycle Mechanics - Marzocchi Fork brake mounts

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I have a quick question, I am putting together my sons bike for christmas. I purchased the fork and frame months ago, but I just realized on the brake bosses.. mounts whatever they are callled for v-brakes. They screw into the fork since then you can remove them if you want to use disc brakes. I am using v-brakes since had a spare set that I never used. THere is this metal post that screws into the fork, also from looking at the manual there is a piece that goes on the bottom of the post that the v-brake spring connects to that is missing. Anyone know the name of this piece, I know it is to late to get it for christmas which really sucks, but need to get that piece can my LBS order it for me and anyone know the name of that piece.
The fork is a 2003 Marzocchi MX Comp.
I copied the pic out of the manual to explain it beter.. they should the post in orange.. which I do have but there is a piece between the post and the fork that I do not have.

Good call, but there was no reason to say that.
