I posted this in the "can't figure out which bike to buy" but wanted to post it here as well. My brother and I are wanting to get back into BMX riding. We used to ride several years ago. So much has changed since then. The "Rad Racing" days, haha. We are wanting to get some bikes for doing flat land tricks and learning some new ones. We are looking at the MirraCo bikes, the black pearl II and the project 18. I think that is what it's called.

I am 5'9" and about 150 lbs. Not too sure about the 18 in. frame? Thinking that it's going to be too small. Probably seems really stupid to you guys but this is why I am asking. I am open to other brands and models. What do you guys think? We are wanting something light (obviously), but there are all sorts of new brands out there that I haven't heard of before. Guidance would be much appreciated. Oh price range. I don't want to spend more then $650. Thanks in advance for the help and advice.

KHE Stylus http://www.flatlandfuel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1124

DK Signal http://www.flatlandfuel.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=883

Both are flatland bikes. KHE is more flatland specific.

So you can upgrade and its only flatland. It doesn't matter that much with flatland. And any KHE are over his price limit

Thanks guys for the replies. I have been doing some thinking and more research. I am now steering away from the mirraco as they seem to be designed more for other uses. We are wanting to mainly do flatland but I'm sure we are going to want to go to the bike park and ride some ramps as well. Will the DK hold up? What are some others that you would recommend for flat land/park?

The DK will hold up.

All kinds of bike companies in this link.

So basically anything from that site would work for what we are wanting? I have just heard that you want to have good front brakes, so that makes me a little cautious of buying a bike that isn't flatland specific, but then again I want to be able to go to the local bike park and ride ramps as well. I don't want to be limited to just flatland.

DK signal will work for that or just add front brakes.

How about a WTP Nova 18"? Would that be a good bike for what I am wanting to do?

It isn't 100% chromoly but i don't see why not. It has front brakes.

you cant ride park on a flatland bike.

He's not riding serious park so just for casual park it should be fine.

Just out of curiosity why would it not be fine? I was thinking about getting the DK signal and just having them install a 3 pc crank on it before shipping to me. Why would this not work for a little bit of park: jumping, grinding and ramps.

The geometry will be too weird, bad gear ratio, in general just not made to take park and street abuse.
