clipless! After 1500 miles on my old pedals I finally bought some shoes (Nike Ventoux plus) and pedals ( Shimano PD-R540L) and after an easy install I promptly took my bike out for my usual evening route. No problems at all, I even got pretty good at getting in and out of them. That is until, at the end of my ride I pulled up the driveway next to my truck and proceeded to fall over. I laughed all the way down, since I knew it would happen sometime..........
Anyway, what a difference!
Woot!

I did the same thing riding along with a buddy to work. Years of Judo and Aikido really helps with the whole falling thing.
Thankfully you got it out of the way in the privacy of your own driveway rather than in front of a snickering audience at a high traffic intersection.

Try falling stopping at a busy junction. You'll get so many laughs you'll think you are seinfeld.

knock on wood, I actually have not fallen (yet). I have the same pedals (Shimano R540 SPD-SL Pedals) but with with specialized shoes. I just unclip one foot whenever I get the inkling that I might need a to drop a foot.
anyway, glad nobody got hurt and you could laugh about it. Now that I have gone and jinxed my self you will soon read about me falling.
anyway, happy trails,
Joe
