I have a friend that is having "knee issues". Can anyone recommend a professional bike fitter, in San Diego, preferably one with some experience resolving knee problems?
I was very happy with the fitting I personally received many years ago at Hi-Tech Bikes, but the guy who fit me no longer works there.
Thanks!

Talk to Aaron down at cal coast bicycles on adams ave. I was having some serious knee problems and he fixed me right up. I haven't had any knee problems in the last 300 miles since the re fit.
George (Vireo) at Nytro. I don't know if he knows anything about knees but he's well regarded as a fitter.

CTS (www.comprehensivetherapy.com); sorry, I forgot the person's name, but there's only one that will do bike fitting there. 805 and Mira Mesa area.
I went to CTS and my bro-in-law went through Hi-Tech when he got his bike there last year. Hi-Tech paid more attention to detailed bike positions and adjustments, while CTS seems more muscle stretches, etc. and a little less on bike adjustments. IMO, Hi-Tech gave my BIL a thoroughly adjusted bike; CTS gave me a properly adjusted bikes and threw in exercises that I'll need to do based on my flexibility.

I can't believe no one has said Dan Rock. Been in the sport longer then anyone else mentioned on here. Give Dano a call at B&L in solana beach, 858-481-4148
Eddie B recognized by sight that I needed to raise the saddle on my track bike by 5 mm, a distance he represented between his thumb and index finger, resulting in an immediate improvement in comfort and in my 200 meter time. I had been riding at the previous extension for seven years and thought I had it dialed in. He never fails to amaze me with his knowledge and experience.
Other good fitters in the area: Ron Lacey at Rose Canyon Cycles and Andrew Lee at Adams Avenue.

I would definitely like to include JT Lyons and Moment Cycle Sport in the conversation. I've bought two bikes from them. First one was a tri bike just as I entered the sport. Second was a road bike about a year and half later. Both times I was put on their fit bike to analyze everything they take into consideration when fitting me. I felt great after both fits, as we went through different positions to determine how I felt in each and find the optimal position for me on each bike. I've never had discomfort on either.
I believe two of the employees are f.i.s.t. certified and I learned JT is a f.i.s.t. instructor, which was great since not only were they able to view how I looked on the bike, but they also use exact numbers to calculate my fit. I liked the combination of fitter opinion plus tangible data.
Best of luck. Hope the knee problems get resolved!

Thanks for the great tip. I jump into the time machine and travel back in time two years, and give this brilliant recommendation to my friend. Sheesh.
