Anybody know of a site that will let show the tour online (hopefully for free)?

I don't own a TV, so every year presents a new set of challenges... Fortunately, last year I was in London to see the Prologue and followed the rest of the race in pubs. This year I'd like to stay out of the bars, but couldn't find any online broadcasts of the tour, although I did find a few suggestions here: http://www.knowledgeproblem.com/archives/001317.html

That being said, does anyone know of a bar in Brooklyn that is showing the tour this year?

I didn't have cable last year and could not find it for free anywhere online.

I ended up paying for a subscription for an (I think) Danish channel and listening to commentary on Yahoo (which would or wouldn't play at times).

try cyclingfans.com when the tour starts. they will have links to all the feeds whether free or $. there should be some free feeds from europe (NPK, fr2) but sometimes they can be blocked out in the usa. i'm assuming at the very least the audio on eurosport uk with sean kelly/david harmon should be available which is nice to listen to at work in the mornings while doing other stuff.

I would love to be able to catch highlights each day. I'll be on a bike tour of southern Indiana during week 1. I'll have my laptop and internet access, but not Versus.

Last year I saw it in TV2, Sputnik, yes is danish, it was fun. This year I have my Danish wife looking for info on the site but no such luck. She even wrote to them at tv2 but no answer. Its weird cause DK is a big TDF follower. Last year I saw part of it in Dutch tv but the band was too narrow for the volume and it was not very reliable.

As rduffy said, if you want to watch ithe tour online you need to check out http://cyclingfans.com. I've been watching races for free though them all season. :-) They don't have their live race guide up yet, but I'm sure they will soon.

I always use the official Tour site www.letour.fr

Helps if you speak French, but I like the live graphic depictions they have of the breakaways, They show the stage leaders, the chasers and the yellow/green/polka/white groups, and the gaps between them.

Versus.com had it last year for free.... just daily video clips, and a minute by minute text log tho... not the whole shabang.

It seems they might be streaming a bit of the action this year...the OP might be in luck.

I don't know if it will continue past the first two days, but I guess we will see.
