Introductions - Hello from Georgia

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
An introduction forum, huh? Okay, I'll play. I'm a middle-aged married kind of guy, living northwest of Atlanta. My cycling buddy is my youngest son, Colin. We enjoy riding the Silver Comet Trail (a nice 37 mile long paved rails-to-trails path). We've also wandered over to Alabama to visit the Chief Ladiga Trail. What a pretty place to ride!
Our goals for this year are to do the SCT, the CLT, visit the Chattahoochie River Walk Trail - and then either head over to Mississippi or up to Virginia for our "big adventure" trek.
We've been using a Cannondale mountain bike with a trail-a-bike attached for our adventures. We're planning on either fixing up an older Tandem, or buying a low-end picnic-cruiser type tandem (fat tires, slow, heavy - but good for rails-to-trails paths).
Hope to see some of you on the trails!
Bruce
Welcome Georgia! Sharing cycling with the offspring is about the best one on one experience there is. My years of sharing with my daughter are some of the best memories I have. And even though she is 20 years old now, that sharing continues. Last Tuesday morning we went on an ice ride and had a blast. So, kudos to you and your son. Enjoy the ride!

Welcome to BikeForums.
SCT is a great place to ride/train. I'm on the East side of Atl. near St. Mt. Can't wait until my 4 yr. old and 1 1/2 year old can join me. Enjoy your rides and enjoy the forums.
Welcome Bruce. I live in Decatur. There are lots of Atlanta area and Georgia folks here.
The SCT is nice, once you get out past the Florence Road area (past all the pedestrians, etc.) :)
I mostly ride to Stone Mountain and back. There are lots of folks riding there.
