Since my brother and I did not make the RSVP this year, we are planning our own trip. We do not want to follow the RSVP route, it would be nice to ride a new route. Does anybody know a good way to ride up there? I have Seattle to Bellingham and the Peace Arch to Vancouver covered. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

When I get back home, I'll look up a route in an old copy of Cycling the Backroads of Washington State (or something like that).

I haven't ridden all the way to Blaine, but have done most of this route (just to Birch Bay):
Leave Bellingham on Eldridge, turns into Marine Drive. Follow to Lummi Shore and jog to continue west on Kwina Rd to the end. Turn north on Hillaire Rd to end, then west on North Red River Rd to end, turns north on Lake Terrell Rd. At Mountainview, turn west and follow the main arterial right on Rainbow which runs into Kickerville Rd. Go north on Kickerville to Grandview. Here you have a choice: go west and have a scenic ride around Birch Bay or continue north on Kickerville for a more direct route. If north on Kickerville go to end and turn west on Loomis Trail which will run into Blaine Rd (Rt 548), then north into Blaine. If through Birch Bay then Harborview north from Birch Bay Drive, then east on Drayton Harbor Rd to intersection with Blaine Rd where you'll go north into Blaine. I haven't had any serious traffic on any of this route. Google Map (http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=48.810368,-122.593689&spn=0.099369,0.205307&z=13)

You could yo-yo the RSVP route for that ride.
