Can somebody explain to me how this is any different from a regular Chipotle burrito?
"Team Slipstream Chipotle - H30 has added backing going into the Tour de France, July 5 to 27, as its sponsor has introduced a new burrito in honour of the USA team. Chipotle Mexican Grill in New York City unveiled "Le Burrito" in anticipation of the team's debut in the Tour de France, following on its first – and successful – Grand Tour, the Giro d'Italia. The limited edition burrito is aimed at athletes and will be featured in all Chipotle restaurants throughout the French race.
Team riders, including Magnus Backstedt and Martyn Maaskant, joined Steve Ells, founder, chairman and CEO of Chipotle, at the event this week. The riders had the chance to make Le Burritos and meet with fans. Le Burrito is filled with chicken, black beans, lime rice, tomato salsa and guacamole.
"Professional cycling is incredibly gruelling, and riders need to fuel their bodies with good, whole foods that will sustain them through their hours on the bike," said Directeur Sportif Jonathan Vaughters in a press release.
Steven Cozza, seventh in Vuelta a Castilla y León stage one, agreed and added his own take on the power of Le Burrito. "Chipotle burritos builds strong legs and gives you the fuel to power through any race," he noted. "Plus, if you eat enough of them you'll grow a moustache like mine."
The Le Burrito is expected to be available only throughout the Tour de France."

Well, normally I get corn salsa and carnitas.
No wonder I can't grow a sweet 'stache like Cozza.
Since it's all "make your own burrito" anyway...
I like that they're specifically drawing attention to their cycling sponsorship, and Le Tour.

Yeah, that seems like a pretty standard Chipotle burrito to me. I always throw in the fajita veggies, cheese, and guac.

Somebody needs to tell Tammy Thomas to cut back on those burritos.
Slipstream needs to HTFU and get the barbacoa and red salsa.

it's not marketed at potheads living in parents basement working partime at gamecrazy.

please note, Le Burrito still has a day's worth of sodium in one serving.

See, this burrito has "le" in its name. Voila, new product. And Caloso is absolutely correct on the Barbacoa.

Baja Fresh and California Tortilla makes better burritos. Find one of them instead.
+2 on the Barbacoa.

 I guess that's why there are different restaurants: to keep the Chipotle lines manageable for me ;)

They're opening a Burrito Brothers next door to the Subway near the bank i frequent. Any of you DC guys know if they're any good?

The (original) Freebirds in Isla Vista is good, but it's definitely over hyped.

Back in the day, it was good, but its been a number of years since I frequented it.
Best thing about freebirds, in my view, is that I can get them cheaper than Chipotle.

Freebird's is ok as long as it's adjacent to a restaurant that sells Coke. The death and hab salsas are good.

i havent been to a burrito brothers in a long long time. Shortly before the dupont location closed something changed in thier food and i havent eaten it since.
I ate at Chipotle for the first time while I was in Denver over the weekend. I enjoyed it.
Chicken
Black beans
Rice
Cheese
Pico
Hot Sauce
Guac
Sometimes sour cream.
Thus is Banzai's recipe for the perfect Chipotle Burrito.
I was wondering what the "Chipotle" of Slipstream-Chipotle was. We don't seem to have any of those up here. No big deal. We have our own local burrito bars!

Maybe because RIGHT NOW TOMATOES are not used in burrito's at chipotle...

Having said that, I'll take a local dodgy tacaria any day of the week. It's not real mexican unless cabeza and lengua is on the menu.

I ate at the new location yesterday. Kinda reminded me of one of those hole in the wall Chinese take outs joints. I will probably never go back. There is a Chipotle, a California Tortilla and a Baja Fresh all within 5-10 min drive time from my office here in Columbia.

Baja Fresh is nowhere near the level of Chipotle. Not even close.
Who cares if Chipotle has lots of Sodium? Last I checked, you're probably a cyclist if you read these forums, which would mean you lose lots of it when you ride. There are far worse things than Sodium.... Like trans-fat!
You guys all have the recipe all wrong :(
Bowl or Burrito, doesn't matter
-Rice (extra)
-Pinto Beans
-Carnitas (this is they key)
-Corn Salsa & Pico
-Sour Cream
-Cheese
Yum!

¡Tienes razon!
Other good indicators are posters of local soccer teams that they sponsor (or the busboys play for), a big jug of agua fresca (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agua_fresca) on the counter, and an icon of La Virgen.

I can guarantee any burrito cart in your locality is going to be 10x better (and cheaper) than Chipotle.

Don't confuse Chipotle with Tex-Mex, or even Mexican (in spite of what the sign says). I eat a lot of all three, and they aren't comparable. It's like saying sushi is better than a porter house. You get in the mood to have a certain type of food, and Chipotle/Freebird's are in a different genre.

You speak the truth. And Tex-Mex is very different from traditional Mexican, which varies throughout that country anyway. I put Chipotle more in the general wrap / sandwich genre than Mexican.
And damn this thread -- I just ate a lovely sandwich and now I'm hungry again. Good thing the taqueria is really a little too far away for me to get there and back quickly...

I go for the chicken burrito, rice, black beans, a little fresh tomato salsa, a little cheese, and can devour one of these after a race in about 3 minutes with 0 guilt. I can't remember the calorie and fat content of this, its too much but I don't think it's that big of a deal.
