Introductions - Navigating Tokyo

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
HI everyone! I'm originally from Canada and have always been into biking, though not so seriously. I am currently trying to avoid the crowded, and expensive trains of Tokyo, and have been amused to find that what was once a 1 hour commute by train, became a 45minute leisure ride. I also joined up with my school's cycling club that does day trips and longer tours in the country too. I'm interested in learning about building and maintaining bikes as well as tips on urban cycling and navigation.

Hello swint, what bike are you using to take that leisurely ride? What part of Canada are you from?

It's a scott mountain bike. It's great in hilly Tokyo, but I'd kind of like to get something narrower for city riding. I'm from Toronto.
