Track Cycling - drop handlebars on TT bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I was given a TT bike and am intimidated by the handlebars. They are the all in one aero ones with the shifter up there. Has anyone ever swapped out for drop handlebar instead. I understand the positioning may be wrong, but it would be more for fun than competition any ways. Didn't want to pass up a free bike!

You may want to post this on the Mechanics Forum since track bikes don't have shifters (or brakes). - TF
