Just thought I would introduce myself. Been riding for about 10 years, rode Ragbri in IA 8 times. Skipped the last couple years though. My son & I have been competetive archers around the diff. parts of the country for many years. Unfortunatly I have a fussed vertebrai in my neck & the doc. thinks it's best I put the bow down on a competetive level but will still let me shoot for recreation & hunting.
So that puts me back on the bike on a regular basis. So I have decided to do some touring, my son is going to be a sophmore @ the University if IA & he being my youngest allowes me more time to myself & my bike.
I currently ride a Trek 5000 but am ordering a Trek 520 tomorrow to setup for touring. My goal is to tour from Maine to Florida by 2010. I will be doing several shorter treks to prepair for it.
My hobbies include biking, archery, hunting, fishing, just about anything outside. Even though I'm looking forward to the solitude of doing some biking my first love is my family.
The one thing that I do struggle with is spelling, I will kill some words, but hey such is life.
I'm from around the Quad Cities in IA, if anyone would like to get together & ride some short tours in the area, please give me a holler. Just ordered a tent & getting some other stuff in order.:D

Hello Boondocks, I am fond of many of the same things as you are, although archery and fishing are not in my bag. We do have some archers here on the board.

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) !
