I am from United states, visiting Harbin China for the next 6 weeks. Does anyone know of any good places to buy bikes. I have seen cheap bicycles at Wal-mart, but would like to avoid buying a wal-mart bike.

Not sure aboult Harbin but a lot of bike shops in Shenzhen are based at the local sports stadium you could give it a try

I found the "bicycle district" in Harbin, with the help of some of my Chinese friends. Lots of bicycles everywhere. I purchased one of the light folding bicycles they had.
