My question is will the Shimano ES-51 BB work with the Shimano LX M571 (NOT M572) crankset? Also my original (now broken) BB was 73x113 and jensonusa offers the ES-51 in 68x121 and 73x126. It's obvious the only thing that would come close to fitting would be the 73x126. Now would the extra length mess things up? or should i look into finding a 73x113? Over at price point they sell a ES-70 that works for XT and LX (doesn't say which models) but they have it 73x113. Maybe thats an option? i dunno hopfully someone can guid me :D

I found this on price point....
"What bottom bracket will fit my Shimano cranks?

Most new Shimano cranks are splined, so you will have to use a Shimano splined bottom bracket. Also, if you have an XTR crank you will need an XTR bottom bracket. The LX M572 and XT M752 cranks both use the ES71 bottom bracket."

So does that mean the Es-70 will work with M571 cranks then since they are both one model/year down?

I'm no expert, but I'd say, as long as they're both either square-taper or Octolink, and as long as the new one is the same size as the old one, it's a dead cert. ie Get the 73x113 ES-70.

ive read also that due to the crank arms the wider BB is needed. Like if you had a 73x113 you need 73x126 which jensonusa offers. they offer 68x121 and 73x126 for the ES-51
